Aquarium Fishes With Symmetrical And Geometrical Designs And Patterns

These fishes exhibit symmetry, showing harmonious or proportionate arrangement of parts.

1.) Red Sea Sailfin Tang(Zebrasoma desjardinii)

This is a lovely fish with spots and vertical stripes. The Red Sea Sailfin Tang is an attractive fish with its uniquely designed appearance. It inhabits the reefs and lagoons of Indian Ocean. Desjardin’s Sailfin Tang is the other common name of this intricately designed and pretty fish.

 

2.) Orange Spotted Foxface Rabbitfish (Siganus guttatus)

They call this uniquely-patterned fish an Orange Spotted Foxface Rabbitfish. It inhabits the water of eastern Indian Ocean. This beautiful fish that can attain a length of 42 cm occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade.

 

3.) Orange-lined Triggerfish (Balistapus undulatus)

The Orange-lined Triggerfish is a beautiful and popular aquarium fish that inhabits the tropical waters of Indian and Pacific oceans. It grows up to 30 cm long and has a reputation as one of the meanest fish in the aquarium trade. Orange-lined Triggerfish kills most fish and invertebrates that share its aquarium. This slow growing fish is also commonly known as Undulated Triggerfish or Orange-Striped Triggerfish.

 

4.) Blue Moon Fish (Pomacanthus maculosus)

The Blue Moon Fish is one of the must uniquely designed and patterned marine creature. This aquarium fish, which is known by a variety of common names such as Maculosus Angelfish, Map Angelfish, Yellowbar Angelfish and Half Moon Angelfish, is distributed throughout the Indian Ocean.

This magnificent-looking fish, especially as a juvenile, grows up to 50 cm long. It inhabits coral and rocky areas and occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It feeds on sponge, algae, shrimps and anemones.

 

5.) Clown Triggerfish (Balistoides conspicillum)

Take a close look at the lips of the Clown Triggerfish. Isn’t it cute? It is even cuter with those large white spots on its body. It inhabits the tropical waters of Indian and Pacific oceans. Reaching a length of up to 50 cm, it has powerful and strong jaws which it used to crush and eat hard-shelled mollusks, sea urchins and crustaceans. Because of the Clown Triggerfish’s beautiful and attractive coloration, it is one of the most highly prized aquarium fish in the world.

 

6.) Ornate Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ornatissimus)

The Ornate Butterflyfish is one of the cutest fish I have seen. This captivating and attractively unique fish can be found at depths of 36 meters. It is a species I would probably want to add in my aquarium.

 

7.) Emperor Angelfish(Pomacanthus imperator)

The Emperor Angelfish is a lovely-looking fish that can be found in the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean. It inhabits coral reefs of the Red Sea, Hawaii and Austral islands.

As a juvenile, the Emperor Angelfish is one of the most beautifully patterned fishes in the world. The above-photo is a juvenile Emperor Angelfish. It is characterized by dark blue with electric blue and white rings.

 

8.) Chevron Butterflyfish (Chaetodon trifascialis)

Chevron Butterflyfish is a uniquely patterned marine creature that can be found in the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean. Its elongated white body is characterized by narrow chevron markings. It can grow as long as 18 cm. Triangulate Butterflyfish and V-lined Butterflyfish are the other two common name of this lovely fish.

 

9.) Scrawled Butterflyfish (Chaetodon meyeri)

The Scrawled Butterflyfish of indo-Pacific region is a beautifully designed fish that can grow up to 20 cm in length. Its wonderful-looking body is blue-white with curved to oblique black bands on the sides. It feeds mainly on coral polyps.

 

10.) Mandarin Dragonet  (Synchiropus splendidus)

No words are needed to describe this beautifully designed and brightly-colored fish. Just take a look at the above photo and you’ll surely be captivated by the stunning beauty of this splendid creature which is native to the Pacific Ocean.
